Da Gama Maritime was established by professional mariners, for professional mariners. Focusing on navigation management and on board crew training, the company initially worked solely with Superyachts but over the years this has broadened from small day boats to commercial ships as well as private islands.
While navigation is a cornerstone of the Da Gama support, training is equally important. Since 2010, they’ve been setting the bar with onboard training in firefighting and navigation. Safeguard Helideck Certification is an approved Aviation Inspection Body (AIB) licensed to issue Helicopter Landing Area Certificates (HLAC), Helicopter Landing Area Inspection Reports (HLAIR) and Helicopter Landing Area Technical Certificates (HLATC) on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA)
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom working to prevent the loss of lives at sea and is responsible, through the Secretary of State for Transport to Parliament, for implementing British and international maritime law and safety policy.
We are authorised by the MCA to act as an Aviation Inspection Body (AIB) to provide certification for superyacht helicopter landing areas.
